 What is your idea of a typical holiday taken by retired people? A beach holiday in the sun? A cruise? It will become obvious to anyone looking at this site that we and our friends enjoy a different style of trip. We tend to stay in one area, we travel fairly slowly. We seek out possibilities of interesting and varied landscapes, fascinating cities and towns and we have something of an obsession with ancient buildings and especially ruins!

We enjoy sharing our experiences and the many hundreds of  photos we’ve taken along the way and hope you enjoy a glimpse into our travels. With a map in one hand and a camera in the other, we’ve been exploring the great sights and sounds of the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and Turkey among others.
